Minister Raed Khoury Activities today

Minister of Economy and Trade, Raed Khoury, received today Belarusian Ambassador to Lebanon residing in Damascus, Alexander Ponomarev accompanied with Consul Elie Sarkis. Discussions considered the economic and commercial ties between Lebanon and Belarus and the ways to boost the trade and investment exchange between the two countries.
The pair also discussed the importance of activating the work of the joint economic committee and the exchange of businessmen’ delegation in order to access to investment opportunities in both countries and bolster the joint cooperation in sectors of mutual interest.
Minister Khoury later met with Cypriot Ambassador to Lebanon, Christina Rafti and discussed the mutual ties. The Ambassador informed Minister Khoury that the Businessmen Forum will be held in June 14th, in Beirut in the presence of the President of Cyprus; Minister of Industry, Commerce and Energy as well as a delegation of Cypriot businessmen in which discussions will tackle common sectors between the two countries, notably in the field of tourism, banking and trade exchange.
Minister Khoury also met Japanese Ambassador to Lebanon, Matahiro Yamaguchi, who came on a protocol visit in which the pair discussed bilateral ties between Lebanon and Japan in addition to ways of developing joint cooperation in order to increase the Lebanese exports to Japan, especially the olives oil and foie gras.
Moreover, Minister Khoury informed his visitor that a request was submitted to organize a Lebanese exhibition in Japan to be held in 2025, hoping that it will gain the support of the Lebanese.
